Breaking News!

This week was so good!!

So on Monday we had a miracle! We found a street to knock and the first door we tried, a lady opened the door, and without any hesitation she invited us to come right inside! Wow! We started talking to her and turns out her family is Mormon, and she grew up Mormon! She seemed familiar to me, and as we started talking, I found out that I knew her family!!! I met them in St John's River when I served there!!! Such a small world! It was awesome to talk to her and to meet her, and now we are going to move her records so that she is in our area now!

On Wednesday we had the FIRST missionary broadcast!! It was a broadcast all for missionaries and it was shown all around the world! It was amazing! We went over all the fundamentals of missionary work, and how we can improve our finding, teaching, and member work! Yay!!

On Thursday we had an awesome lesson! We knocked and met a lady named Janie. We had a another lesson with her this week and brought a member with us! It was an amazing lesson! We taught her the restoration and invited her to be baptized! She was excited about the Book of Mormon and reading to find out the truth! So good! We are seeing her again on Thursday!

On Friday! We had our trainees and trainers meeting! It was amazing!! All the trainees in the mission get together and we have more training's from President and Sister Craig! It was great to see all the other trainees and how much they have all grown! We got some pictures all together!

We also had a outer miracle! While tracking we met a man named Wade. We introduced ourselves and he interrupted us and asked where our church was! We told him and he got really excited! He told us that 30 years ago he drove by our church, and they were sponsoring a "free quit smoking program" he attended it, and after just 3 classes he was able to quit! We were able to talk to him more about the atonement and
about change and he was really responsive! We are seeing him this next week to teach him the restoration!! Yay!
It's been a good week, and I can't believe January is almost over!! It is so weird!!
This lady have a light up flamingo! Haha

Current Week

So, last Sunday my companion and I was a little sad, it was a rougher week since we both left the area for a day and at the end of the week we were short of our goal of 2 Other lesson, and 1 Less active member
lesson. We had 30 minutes left of Sunday night, and we wanted to see a miracle. We prayed and then looked through our records. A members name stood out to me. She is inactive and when I met her last, she told us it wasn't a good time and to come back next week. I felt weird about it, because I wanted to focus on investigator lessons, not member lessons, but we felt impressed to try her anyway. We got to her home
and she was outside! We started talking to her when... Her non-member husband walked out! And he has been having a lot of questions about the church because he has "heard" a lot! We were able to teach BOTH OF THEM the restoration right there! And he was very interested! We decided we would have the elders come back, but it was an amazing miracle! We got 2 more lessons and were only short 1! As we walked back to our car, we saw a man outside, we said hi and he immediately asked who we were. We explained who we were and our purpose and had ANOTHER lesson with him! Wow. We made all of our goals happen in that short 30 minutes! Amazing!

Then on Monday, as a zone pday we went to Adventure landing! It was so so much fun! They had mini golf, laser tag, and all kinds of arcade stuff! We had a lot of fun!

We had another miracle on Thursday! So we have been trying to find new investigators! We keep meeting with potentials and have lessons, but to have a new investigator, we need someone who will set a return
appointment with us! So we found a street to knock and set a goal to have 2 other lessons and 1 new investigator! We started teaching a man named Jabari, and he was very interested! He was busy in the moment, so out of nowhere he asks us if we can come back next Thursday at 5:00. Wow! That was easy he set the appointment for us! Then, we talked to his next door neighbor and we were able to share the restoration with her as well! Her daughter just came home, so we had to leave but we asked her if we could come back on Thursday as well, and she accepted! Wow! When we had finished knocking that whole street
we had had 3 other lessons and 2 new investigators! This week has been a huge testimony builder for me, about setting goals and working towards them! I know that God will not let us fail! When we set a goal, whether it be physical, educational, spiritual, etc, and if we do our part to achieve it, God makes up for the rest and helps us even over achieve our goal! I am truly so grateful for my mission! I have learned and grown so so much! I have been able to look back at how much I have changed! Yesterday we had a regional broadcast, and met at the stake center. Which is the same stake I used to serve in back in April of last year! I got to see some of the old members I served with from St John's River! It was so great to see them all again, and I was surprised they remembered me, because I was only there for a transfer! But there was a few of them that mentioned how much I had changed and grown. It was very sweet to hear that. Now I don't share this to boast, but I share that because I know it is only through this gospel that I have been able to change. I have learned so much about Christ's atonement and I know that that is something that is available to every one of us!  I love you all! And hope you have a good week!!!

Catch up for last week!

So last week, our car died! We had a member help us recharge our battery, and the sweet guy even gave us the jumper cables to keep in our car! Blessings! Our car kept sounding weird, so we had to take it
in the shop and get a new battery. So, we were without a car for a few days! But, we had some miracles! Since we had no car we decided to try some investigators that lived near by, or that lived in our apartment
complex! We were walking to the nearby neighborhoods, and we met a man walking his dogs. His name was Larry and he is, what's know as a "born again Christian" we had a awesome discussion with him about
Jesus Christ and we were able to share with him the Restoration! Unfortunately, we never got his home address! Ahh! (But wait there's more!) so fast forward a few days, we had our car back and it was late
at night again and we were trying to figure out where we needed to be. We were sitting in the car and was praying for direction. When up ahead I could see someone walking and it reminded me of Larry! Before
I said anything, Sister Handy said that Larry popped into her mind! Gosh I love the spirit! So we drove forward back to the place where we had first met Larry. And as we drove the "person" I saw walking was
actually a tree. But it's alright because I still thought of Larry! So we drive around the corner and just as it was the other day Larry was right there!! We got so excited and pulled over and talked with him more. He said he read the restoration pamphlet and found it very interesting! He said he would like to attend church! Wow! So amazing! It's funny to me that sometimes God lets our battery go dead, or things like that, so that we can meet people we otherwise would not have met! :)

Then on Tuesday was Zone meeting!!! It was so so good! It was all about becoming missionary's that teach and declare repentance! Our gospel is centered around the atonement and all about change! Change is good! Scary, but so good! It was an amazing training and Sister Handy and I have been focusing our lessons to teach more about the atonement and the wonderful gift it is! After zone meeting we of course had our classic "sister lunch" it's so much fun to be with the other sisters! They all are so amazing!

Okay funny story, so we have been trying to clean up our area book, and we have a lot of records that only have a phone number, no address. So we decided we would text/call some of these individuals and see if they still have interest. We texted a man named Logan who apparently sisters had talked to before, and when we asked him if he would be interested in learning more his reply was "nah I'm good, y'all rejected my hug!" Haha made me laugh so hard! Sorry mister, we are sisters!

Okay then this Friday was so amazing! So, it was Sister Handys birthday! So what do I do? I wake her up an extra 10 minutes earlier, I'm belting happy birthday with my morning voice, and spraying her with silly string! And guess what! She didn't kill me! Haha she's a good sport but it was a lot of fun! After weekly planning we had a trade off with our Sister Training Leaders! And we have made some changes, so instead so trading a companion in each of our areas. Both companionship work in the same area and just divide up during the day. It was a lot of fun! We both were able to head out and try different people, and come back together that night. Sister Hudson and I went out with a member and she took some pictures of us in front of
some lions.. Yup, just a few kittens out on the town!

Anyway it really has been an amazing week!!

Another busy week!

So sorry about last week, today has actually been crazy as well, but I'll try my best to write enough! I have included last weeks post in another email.

I am so so happy for Emily Naylor!!! She is so strong! So what is currently happening with her situation? That is so special for her!!

Quick update on me. I am doing amazing!!! Training has actually been way easier than I could have ever imagined! Sister Handy is amazing and she is already so brave and confident with talking to everyone and teaching! We are struggling finding new investigators right now. We have been doing a lot of less active work, while trying to find new people who are ready for the gospel. It's been kind of bitter sweet, because we actually have found some awesome people lately! But! They end up not living in our boundaries, they are moving, or they need to be passed along to the Elders or the YSA missionaries! We are hoping we get some good karma and maybe some missionaries will find people that are in our boundaries! Haha it really has been great though. We are talking to everyone we see and have gotten a few lessons by just interrupting people on the street! Florida has been really nice this winter, in fact it's been really hot!! Unusually hot! This week it finally cooled down and was in the 50's (everyone was shocked that we were wearing jackets!) haha the mission has truly been amazing, it is weird to think that it is coming to en end :( but I still have 3 long long months of lots of work to do! I love you so much! Thank you for everything!!

Last weeks post

So this week has been very very eventful!!

We have a lot of people on our records that aren't making a lot of progress in the gospel! In fact we ended up dropping a few investigators this week. Dropping people is always bitter sweet because you come to love these people so much and it's hard not to see them. But it's also amazing because we are able to let them have time to reflect on what we taught, and we are more able to find those who are ready for the gospel! Dropping people definitely is an act of faith, we have faith that the lord is going to help us rebuild our
teaching pool! Yay for finding!!

We had some amazing experiences this week though!! It was raining and dark outside but Sister Handy and I felt really good about knocking a street we had found. We decided that in the next hour we wanted to
teach 2 lessons! It was a higher goal, but we felt inspired! As we knocked we found some amazing people! Even those that were not interested, was able to talk with us about Jesus Christ, or at least acknowledge the good work we were doing. In addition we were able to teach 3 people about the gospel!! It was amazing to hit above and beyond our goal! It was a huge testimony builder to me that the lord is preparing people to receive us and to help us achieve our goals!

We also had another amazing experience! We were at one of our members for a BBQ with the Ward, and his non-member friend was in town. She's heard a lot about the church, but never got into it much. We were able to have a lessons it's her right then and there and tell her about our general beliefs and invite her to church! She accepted and came!! After church she told us she wants to have missionaries contact her
when we goes back home! So amazing!! We have seen so many tender mercies this week!

Enjoy the pics! ;)
